Product Description

Structural components are essential elements that contribute to the stability, strength, and integrity of a building or any engineered structure. These components include purlin columns, channels, angles, and struts which work together to distribute loads and support the overall structure. Proper design and construction of structural components ensure the safety and longevity of buildings, bridges, and other architectural marvels.

ADE STEEL can custom saw cut metal building structural components to any size necessary to meet the customer’s need. Minimum purchase may be required.

C-Purlin

C-Profiles are used as both purlins and girts. As purlins, the c-profile is laid horizontally along the length of the roof, providing support to the cladding. As a girt, the c-profile provides stability and attachment points for wall panels. The structural shape of this component provides strength, while the thin gauge of the steel minimizes load on the building frame. C-purlins are the preferred shape for carports and simple structures.

Dimensions

  • Sizes: 3”,4’’,6’’, 8’’ and 10’’

  • Lengths: 20’,25’ and 30’

  • Available in red primed or galvanized

Z-Purlin

Z-Profiles are also used as both purlins and girts. As purlins, the z-profile is laid horizontally along the length of the roof providing support to the cladding. As a girt, the zee-profile provides stability and attachment points for wall panels. The structural shape provides strength while the thin gauge of the steel minimizes load on the building frame. Z-profiles are ideal to span long buildings where they are overlapped and joined over the building's frame. Because the lapped joints add significant strength to the roof, Z-profiles are the preferred shape for large or industrial buildings.

Dimensions

  • Sizes: 4’’,6’’, 8’’ and 10’’

  • Lengths: 21’,26’ and 30’

  • Available in red primed or galvanized

Open-Face Channel

The Open-Face Channel is used to receive purlins or girts at the ends of the building structure. They are 1/8 inch taller than the “C” or “Z” profile, so the end of the profile will slip in perpendicular to the channel. The top and bottom of the profile are bolted to the flanges of the Open-Face channel. Open-Face channels are typically used in carports and low strain applications. Other common names for this product are: Receiving Channel, Formed Channel, C Channel, Channel.

Dimensions

  • Sizes: 4’’,6’’, 8’’ and 10’’ (in)

  • Lengths: 20’,25’ and 30’ (ft)

  • Available in red primed or galvanized

Base Angle

Base angles are attached to the base of the structure with the long side up. This creates a solid structure where the bottom of the wall can be anchored to the building and ground.

Dimensions

  • Sizes: 4’’,6’’, 8’’ and 10’’

  • Lengths: 21’,26’ and 30’

  • Available in red primed or galvanized

Eave Strut

  • Foam closure strip available in 3 ft. strips

  • R-Panel/U-Panel foam closure strips in stock in boxes of 100 (300 ft. coverage)

  • Weathertight and help to seal out wind, water birds, light and noise.

  • Vented Closure Strips available for outside, which allow air to flow and circulate throughout the roof and building
